MINISTER of Transport and Communications HE Jassim bin Saif al Sulaiti met separately at the headquarters of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in Montreal on Wednesday with President of ICAO Dr Bernard Elio and Secretary-General of the organisation Dr Fang Liu.
The meetings discussed the two complaints submitted by the State of Qatar on the negative effects caused by the siege countries on aviation, security and air safety.
Sulaiti called on the ICAO to fulfil its responsibilities, while stressing Qatar's respect for Chicago Convention and its annexes and the International Air Services Transit Agreement.
The Minister appreciated the role played by ICAO in maintaining air safety and smooth traffic.
The two meetings were attended by Qatar's Ambassador to Canada HE Fahad Mohammed Yusuf Kafood, Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Chairman HE Abdullah bin Nasser Turki al Subaie and Director of the Department of International Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yousef Sultan Larem. (QNA)
