The School Evaluation Office at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued the second edition of the evaluation guide of government schools, representing an updated and revised version of the first manual which was applied to schools in academic years 2017/2016 and 2017-2018.
The second edition took into account the observations of the relevant departments of the ministry, specialists and a range of schools.
The new edition also included an adjustment of the time period in the periodic evaluation process according to the results of the evaluation of the school leadership area, as well as the addition of subjective meditation questions for each standard to help school leaders assess the quality of their schools' performance in all areas.
With the beginning of the next academic year in September 2018, the School Evaluation Office will prepare training workshops for government schools to be evaluated during the 2018-2019 academic year, to introduce to them the standards of the handbook and the updated procedures.
The department called on school leaders to disseminate the guidance manual to all staff to ensure that they were familiar with the criteria on which the judgment is based during periodic evaluations, which will contribute to the continuity of performance improvement and quality enhancement.
