Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID) aims to support and promote a culture of interfaith dialogue and peaceful coexistence among believers of different faiths, and the stimulation of religious values as a solution to the challenges facing humanity, DICID Chairman Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al Nuaimi has said.
"The centre was established under the wise leadership's orientations towards dialogue and openness. Qatar has always been a home to peace and harmony between citizens and residents," he said in a speech during the annual Ramadan gathering of the Indian Community, organised by the DICIC in cooperation with Qatar Charity (QC) and the Youth Committee of the Indian Community in Qatar.
In his address at the event, Executive Director of International Development at QC Mohammed al Ghamdi said the charity seeks to help the needy around the world.
Jamshid Ibrahim, Chairman of the Indian Youth Committee, said such events aim at spreading the culture of peaceful coexistence among members of the Indian community, who come from different cultural and religious backgrounds, especially among young people who play an important role in guiding the society and consolidating the values of peaceful coexistence.
