THE Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) will carry out a training programme for health and safety supervisors in companies on heat stress and the need to take measures for the safety of workers at the workplace. The first workshops will begin on Monday and will run through April and May in cooperation with the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs, Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Petroleum. The workshops are part of the efforts of the MoPH to take care of workers in all industrial, construction, economic and service activities and to raise awareness about heat stress as well as the importance of taking preventive measures to maintain the health and safety of workers with a view to making the workplace free of occupational diseases and injuries.
