By Satyendra Pathak The Panerai watches held a special event for media persons to highlight technical details about its latest watches on display at the ongoing Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 2018 on Thursday.
Panerai Watchmaking Technical Advisor Adriano Toninelli explained in detail about the technicalities involved with all the watches on display at the Ali Bin Ali pavilion. Most of the Panerai watches on display at the exhibition looked ‘solid and strong’.
“The Panerai watches draw inspiration from the history of a brand which has its roots in the world of the sea, but which is also always looking forward to the future, presenting excellent technical solutions and surprising innovations,” Toninelli said.
The new Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 days Automatic Oro Rosso 42 MM use the P.9010 automatic calibre with a power reserve of three days, he said.
Entirely developed and produced at the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel, the movement has the date, the classic small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, the mechanism for stopping the balance wheel and the device for changing the time by moving the hour hand backwards or forwards.
“The Luminor Due case is 38 mm in diameter, the smallest ever produced by Panerai, and it is only 11.20 mm thick,” he said.
It is made entirely of AISI 316L stainless steel, a steel alloy with excellent properties of corrosion resistance. The winding crown is protected by the classic bridge device with lever, patented by Panerai in 1956. The case and bezel have a polished finish.(PHOTOGRA PHS BY JALAL PATH IYOOR)
