QATARI footwear designer and entrepreneur Hissa Haddad has showcased her latest collection of fashionable footwear at this year's London Fashion Week Designer Showroom being held from February 16 to 20.
She is the only Arab footwear designer who has participated in London Fashion Week 2018. Last year, she had launched her debut Capsule collection at the Paris Fashion Week to great response by the international audience.
"I am very excited about launching my second collection at the London Fashion Week. The collection has nine designs in mostly light shades. The whole London experience has been amazing. The response has been very positive with everyone wanting to know more about the brand. I have been approached by many people who are interested to know more about the brand and also about Qatar," said Haddad from London.
At the fashion week, Haddad launched her second collection titled Capsule II, a selection of nine shoe designs in a variety of styles from pumps, mules and slip-ons. While the statement colour of the collection is sapphire blue, it also places emphasis on pastels like lilac, champagne and rose satin.
Haddad's designs are inspired by historic Islamic architecture and the Arabian culture. Every piece of her Capsule II collection has been handcrafted and represents Qatari heritage and the pearl trade.
These artisanal shoes are hand crafted in Italy and draped with satin and leather and encrusted with gems and jewels. While looking timeless and elegant, they do not compromise on comfort and have been designed keeping in mind the Middle Eastern women. The shoes have a wider fit and added insole making them highly comfortable.
Twenty-nine-year-old Haddad is an engineer by profession who turned to footwear designing because of her passion for shoes. She was selected by the British Fashion Council to showcase her brand Hissa Haddad at the London Fashion Week.
