The Next Generation (TNG) school recently hosted a Science Fair where students from Year I to Year XI displayed model-based science projects in their respective campuses. The exhibition is an integral part of the science curriculum where students explore their creative ideas and knowledge through practical research.
A team of students from each section was assigned a theme to design, assemble and present a science concept at the event. The exhibition covered topics such as habitats, salt energy, smart home automation, capillary action, balloon popping magic and effect of sugary drinks on eggshells.
Each team explained their display to teachers and peers who visited their stall.
The event enabled students to demonstrate teamwork, critical thinking and communication skills. TNG Al Wakra campus took the science fair a step higher by organising a science competition judged by Asfandyar Ansari and Owais Qidwai.
The campus was divided into four zones: A Research Zone, a Media Zone, a Chemical Zone and a Health Corner.
The Researchers Zone was assigned to students who presented innovative research projects such as the astrological aspects of science, Higgs Field, hydraulic power and magnetic generators, recycled vacuums, periscopes, escalator models, bubble machines, black hole and drones.
The Media Zone exhibited information and awareness videos projected in different classrooms. The media team also set-up a booth where parents could get their pictures taken and make comments.
The Chemical Zone had students demonstrating different chemical experiments such as elephant toothpaste, bluebottle experiment, magic ink and jumping stadium. The Health Corner amused parents where students performed blood pressure check-ups.
The TNG Science Fair aims to motivate students towards a positive learning experience with the spirit of teamwork. Projects teach students the practical application of various concepts and expand the horizon for learning.
