QATAR Council for Healthcare Practitioners (QCHP) in the Ministry of Public Health and BMJ (British Medical Journal) Learning are collaborating again to provide online CPD resources to licensed healthcare practitioners in the State of Qatar.
This comes after a collaboration between QCHP's Accreditation Department and BMJ Learning in the year 2015 2016, which helped provide thousands of healthcare practitioners in Qatar free access to BMJ Learning's educational modules.
BMJ Learning of the British Council is a leading international provider of online CPD modules. The educational modules fall under Category 2 Self Directed Learning Activities of the National CPD Framework.
After the UK, Qatar has logged the highest number of BMJ Learning module completions during that period.
More than 11,000 healthcare professionals in Qatar have completed hundreds of thousands of CPD modules across 70 specialty areas in BMJ Learning, with CPD credits recognised by QCHP.
Modules are available in a variety of formats including video, podcast and 3D animations, all peer-reviewed and continuously updated to reflect the very latest guidance.
A survey of healthcare professionals in Qatar showed that many were content with the availability of a variety of free educational modules. The majority have said that this has helped them update their knowledge and improve patient care in addition to helping them meet their CPD requirements. A large percentage expressed their wish to have continued access to such an educational resource.
Dr Samar Aboulsoud, acting CEO and director of accreditation at QCHP, said:"QCHP is committed to continuously ensure that quality educational resources and CPD opportunities are available to all healthcare practitioners in the State of Qatar through an internationally recognised accreditation system aiming at improved patient outcomes. Our partnership with BMJ Learning has been very rewarding to our practitioners. Practitioners have expressed appreciation for the QCHP for supporting them by providing quality, easily accessible online resources. We look forward to a continued successful collaboration."
Dr Kieran Walsh, clinical director of BMJ Learning, said:"We are delighted that our partnership with the Qatar Ministry of Public Health continues to grow. Our content is designed to help healthcare professionals keep up-to-date with the latest developments and deliver high-quality patient care."
