Qatar's Minister of Foreign Affairs HE  Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Friday said efforts are currently taking place to solve the Gulf crisis but added that he could not predict whether a breakthrough was imminent.

"We hope that things will move in the right direction, but we cannot predict whether the move is imminent or if the Gulf crisis will be completely resolved," Sheikh Mohammed said.

"Any solution to the Gulf crisis must be a comprehensive solution that preserves the unity of the Gulf. We are optimistic about a solution to the Gulf crisis, and we cannot say that all problems will be solved in one day.
"Our relationship with the United States is strategic, and we will work to strengthen it with the new administration. We encourage the United States to enter into negotiations with Iran to achieve stability in the region," he added.
