Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has provided financial support to the Philippines to purchase 50,000 doses of the Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine.
This assistance provided by Qatar to brotherly and friendly countries comes within the framework of the efforts made to combat the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which poses a common threat to the whole world.
QFFD Director-General Khalifa bin Jassim Al Kuwari said this support is a confirmation of Qatar's effective role and its efforts to combat the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which represents a common threat facing the whole world, and based on the common international responsibility, adding that this assistance also confirms the state's position in supporting of friendly and brotherly countries to overcome this crisis.
For his part, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of the Philippines HE Dr Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki explained that this aid comes within the framework of humanitarian work, the extended Qatari giving to relief friends in the Philippines, and a commitment from Qatar to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the health crisis and strengthen international efforts in the field of emergency aid.
QFFD has sent many urgent financial and medical aid to several countries around the world since the beginning of the pandemic.
