COVID-19: New cases fall below 4,000 in Qatar as virus claims life of 71-year-old

Qatar on Monday reported 3,998 COVID-19 cases – 3,481 among community and 517 among travellers.
The Ministry of Public Health also reported 2,879 recoveries. With this, the active cases in Qatar reached 41,717 while the total recoveries jumped to 260,896.
In the last 24 hours, the virus claimed the life of a 71-year-old, raising the total number of deaths so far to 627.
As many as 34,561 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total doses given out so far to 5,447,278.

*With the recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
*Adherence to physical distancing.
*Avoiding close contact with others, crowded places and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
