Qatar on Sunday reported 4,021 COVID-19 cases – 3,518 among community and 503 among travellers

In a statement, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said 2,586 people have recovered from the virus during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases recovered in Qatar to 2,58,017.

In addition, the ministry announced two new deaths -- a 3-week-old infant with no history of other diseases and a 92-year-old with a history of chronic diseases. Both were receiving the necessary medical care.

The MoPH said a total of 5,412,717 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the start of the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. As many as 3,413 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours.

So far, 454,512 COVID-19 booster vaccine doses have been administered to date.

With this, the MoPH said, 86.7 percent of the total population are now fully vaccinated with two doses.
