Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs HE HE Dr Khalid bin Muhammad Al Attiyah inaugurated the facilities and buildings of the new Armed Forces Technical Institute.
The opening ceremony included a briefing by Brigadier (Technician / Air) Mohamed Zayed Al-Ruwaili, Commander of the Technical Institute of the Armed Forces, about the new headquarters, and the most important facilities, equipment and services provided by the Institute to its affiliates, followed by an inspection tour of the Institute's facilities and standing at the level of affiliates.
The institute offers foundational and specialized courses in English, computer, information technology, mathematics, science and engineering principles, in addition to general engineering training and specialized engineering training in electronics, mechanics, information systems and cyber security.
The opening ceremony was attended by Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al-Nabit, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and a number of senior officers in the Armed Forces.
