Online schooling is likely to continue at least until the next year as Qatar has launched an updated e-learning platform with artificial intelligence that can analyse student behaviour and class activity.
Tariq Al Emadi, Director of Information Systems Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said the platform would be rolled out in the 2021-2022 school year.
The platform relies on artificial intelligence and many advanced systems to analyse the academic level of each student — it is equipped with technology to analyse learner behaviour and class activity in order to discover strengths and weaknesses and develop treatment plans early, Emadi said.
The system also allows the possibility of analysing and evaluating the performance of teachers, and ease of communication between parents and the school, he added.
According to Emadi, parents would be alerted on student absences, and on results of homework, assessments and tests as well.
