The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs on Monday launched a unified online platform that allows citizens and residents to file whistleblower complaints on general violations of labour laws in Qatar.
The platform, which can be accessed here, lets citizens, expatriates and establishments to file a complaint against entities subject to the provisions of Qatar Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 and the Domestic Workers Law promulgated by Law No. 15 of 2017 or the entities whose business is regulated by the ministry.
The design of the platform allows the user to access and use it through smart phones and works well on all modern browsers like Chrome, Safari and Microsoft Edge.
Through the platform, the user can file a complaint or report a violation, follow up on complaints and also review his personal data as it is registered in the Ministry's database, and he can also update his contact data from a mobile number and an email. In the first phase, the platform can be used to file labour complaints against establishments by employees (Qatari/non-Qatari), against employers by domestic workers and report any explicit violation of the Labour Law such as gathering of workers, inappropriate accommodation for workers, explicit violations at the work site, etc. The complaint can be filed without revealing the identity of the user.
There are no conditions for filing a complaint, any citizen or any expatriate can file a complaint for an explicit violation of the Labour Law.
