The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday announced that blacksmiths and carpenters are prohibited from conducting their commercial activities outside the site defined in their licenses.
They also cannot work in houses and unlicensed sites, nor can they use public parking spaces, sidewalks, squares, neighbouring spaces, and residential areas, the ministry said in a guideline issued on Wednesday.
“Placing and storing goods and supplies related to their commercial activity in front of shops, in public parking lots, on sidewalks, as well as in residential areas, houses, and unlicensed sites,” it added.
The ministry called on those in charge of the aforementioned businesses to abide by the measures stipulated in this decision. Any violation of the decision exposes perpetrators to legal procedures, and they shall be held accountable, as per Law No. (5) of 2015 on Commercial, Industrial and Similar Public Shops, and Street Vendors, and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment’s Law No. (18) of 2017 on Public Hygiene, and Decree-Law No. (19) of 2007 regarding the Traffic Law.
The Ministry also urges all citizens and residents to report any violations or infractions related to registration and commercial licensing through its call centre at 16001 or its social media accounts — Twitter @MOCIQATAR and Instagram MOCIQATAR,
