As the weather has become pleasant and ideal for outings, local tourists are calling for the opening of the famous Al Zubara Archeological site on weekends.
Many visitors reach the site to visit Al Zubara Fort and the other archeological attractions on weekend holidays, but get disappointed seeing it is closed.
Al Zubara is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the country, which is some 100 km from Doha, and winter is ideal time to explore the site.
A local tourist told Qatar Tribune, “I have arrived with my family based on information on some websites and social media accounts. But, I haven’t noticed anywhere the information that Friday is a holiday here.”
A school teacher, who reached along with a few students, said she never expected the most sought-after tourist destination to be closed on weekend holidays and amid the most ideal weather conditions.”
