Doha Festival City has joined hands with Qatar Charity in an initiative to help people in the holy month of Ramadan.
As part of the ongoing #FestivalCares initiative, Doha Festival City distributed 1,000 boxes with essential Ramadan food supplies to workers throughout the Industrial Area and other locations, and to the families with limited income, with support of Qatar Charity, as part of Qatar Charity’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.
Each box contained bottles of oil and concentrated juice beverage, pack of rice, lentils and sugar; a bag with box of dates and box of tea bags, all provided by Doha Festival City. The distribution was held ahead of Ramadan with the aim to support the targeted workers and families to get ready for the Holy Month.
Robert Hall, Festival City General Manager, said: “Giving back to the community is at the heart of Festival City’s mission, and we will continue to mobilize our efforts to support the people of Qatar from different backgrounds. We take pride in considering ourselves as an engaged community player that contributes to building a more inclusive and prosperous society where no one is left behind, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
We would also like to thank Qatar Charity for supporting us to fulfill our charitable mission, and express our appreciation towards the great efforts they continue to make to the community and lives of the people in Qatar and beyond everyday”.
Ahmed Al Shirawi, head of the External Relations and Social Responsibility section at Qatar Charity, expressed his appreciation for Doha Festival City’s charitable initiative during the holy month: “Qatar Charity is committed to integrating private companies in charitable work and helping them to deploy their corporate social responsibility activities to drive positive change in the country. Successful partnerships with private companies are a fundament of charitable action on the local level, and a much-needed support for the vulnerable across the globe”.
