Social media posts about vehicles being exempt from reporting to a FAHES centre for technical inspection this year as well are "false news", Qatar Fuel (Woqod) said in a statement on Thursday.
"We ask all customer to  take information about FAHES only from the official communication channels of WOQOD or those of the Traffic Department," the company said on Twitter.
Technical inspections for all vehicles that are due for Istimarah (registration) renewal were waived off for a few months between March and August 2020 as part of COVID-19 precautionary measures.
Although several restrictions prevailing then have been reinstated over the past few weeks following a rapid rise in new COVID-19 cases, Fahes has not been closed.
Qatar's Cabinet on Wednesday reduced metro and public bus capacities to 20 percent, halted all dine-in services and suspended the operations of salons at it approved another round of restrictions amid increasing COVID-19 cases in Qatar.
