The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has announced the mechanisms and procedures for organising Umrah for citizens and residents of Qatar.
In a video posted on Twitter, the ministry said procedures for citizens of Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) include registration via the Tawakkalna app, 3-day quarantine in a hotel, and requesting an Umrah permit through ‘Eatmarna’ application.
As per the procedures for non-Gulf residents in Qatar, the basic package for Umrah must be booked through an accredited external Umrah agent and a Saudi Umrah company that guarantees housing, transportation and others.
The agent, through the Saudi company, books the date of Umrah and the visit through ‘Eatmarna’ application.
The Umrah company undertakes the issuance of visas for those residing in Qatar. The presentation of a PCR examination certificate confirming that he is free from coronavirus, and it is issued by an accredited centre in the country in which the pilgrim resides, provided that the period does not exceed 72 hours, then quarantine in one of the hotels for three days.
