Discover Qatar has added two more hotels to the list of designated quarantine facilities, bringing the total so far to 62.
The Avenue Hotel and DoubleTree by Hilton are the latest to join the Welcome Home quarantine facilities. A reservation in one of such facilities is a must for people returning to Qatar from red-list countries.
Discover Qatar, the destination management wing of Qatar Airways and the sole facilitator of quarantine booking in Qatar, has taken 85,000 bookings in March — more than twice that in November.
Due to high demand for quarantine hotels, Discover Qatar urged people planning to return to Qatar to book early to secure a room and budget of their choice.
"The ongoing commitment to allow over 385,000 people so far to return safely to Qatar, while protecting public health, has seen a determined effort by many stakeholders to deliver a world-class quarantine programme that has been in operation for eight months. The stringent hotel quarantine requirements continue to protect Qatar and its residents while relieving the burden on medical staff and facilities by safeguarding against any COVID outbreaks. The flexible model of quarantine without the need for a hard border closure has assisted the local economy by allowing daily life to continue while taking sensible precautions," DQ said in a statement issued two days ago
Discover Qatar’s Welcome Home hotel quarantine package prices start from QR2,300, providing economical options that allow an affordable quarantine experience. Included are three meals per day on a full board basis, a PCR test and one way transfers from HIA upon arrival. These cost effective prices allow guests to choose from over 60 hotels that suit their budget across three, four and five star properties while two and three bedroom villas are available for larger families. This compares favourably to other countries where no hotel choice is available or the pricing is fixed. Mekaines packages start from QAR 1,820 and include a mobile phone with a sim card, Wi-Fi, full board and new bedding for every arrival.
The Discover Qatar call centre now has over 55 dedicated Arabic speakers, increasing to 95 in early April, all providing 24/7 support while the Arabic version of the Discover Qatar website is undergoing final trials and is expected to be completed in April.
