All outstanding refund requests for cancelled hotel quarantine packages will be processed by the beginning of April, Discover Qatar said on Wednesday.
The destination management company of Qatar Airways said Welcome Home refunds with a value of $12 million has been processed so far and only a small number being validated with the hotels to confirm eligibility still pending.
Close to 50,000 Mekaines refunds have also been processed to the value of $11 million with any outstanding requests due to be completed by early April.
ccording to Qatar’s travel and return policy, people coming from the green list countries are required to undergo home quarantine while those arriving from countries not mentioned in the green list must undergo hotel quarantine. Quarantine packages have to be purchased from the Discover Qatar website and the list of countries is updated periodically and is available on the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) website.
The MoPH had also recently announced that fully vaccinated citizens and residents of Qatar are now exempt from quarantine requirements after travel abroad for a period of six months.
In the context of work to continuously increase the carrying capacity, the number of travelers coming to the country is on a continuous increase, reaching more than double what it was last November, in conjunction with the availability of additional quarantine facilities.
At a time when the capacity of hotels is increasing, travelers are advised to make their reservations early to ensure that they obtain reservations in the hotels they want and according to the budget they prefer.
Many parties have made strenuous efforts in the past period to implement a quarantine program that meets the highest international standards, and this has enabled more than 385,000 people to safely return to the State of Qatar and support the state’s efforts to protect public health for eight months now.
The strict quarantine requirements followed in hotels continue to protect Qatar and its residents, while easing the burden on medical workers and facilities by reducing the severity of the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19). The flexible quarantine model prevented the need for a complete border closure of the country, helping the local economy to continue meeting the demands of daily life while taking the necessary precautions.
