The Amiri Guard concluded the activities of the Barzan joint exercise (8), which lasted for two weeks, with the participation of the military, security and civil authorities in the country and in presence of HE Commander of the Amiri Guard Major General Hazza bin Khalil Al Shahwani and HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Commander of the Lekhwiya Force Major General Abdulaziz bin Faisal Al -Thani.
The conclusion of the exercise that was held at the Lahsaniya camp, Tuesday morning, was attended by the Deputy Commander of the Amiri Guard, the Inspector General, the assistants of the Commander of the Amiri Guard, leaders of departments and groups, and a number of senior officers of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, and the "Lekhwiya" Force in addition to a number of officials in ministries and government agencies.
The exercise was designed to simulate the duties and tasks that the Amiri Guard will do in coordination with the military, security and civil authorities in the country during the 2022 FIFA World Cup and how to deal with potential events.
Assistant Commander of the Guard for Operations and Training Colonel Jassim Abdullah Al Marizeeq, said that Barzan joint exercise (8) is of great importance, as it focuses on raising the efficiency of the members of the Amiri Guard and the participating military, security and civilian bodies in dealing with various events related to the security and protection of VIPs during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is considered the largest sporting event in the world.
He praised the distinguished level shown by all the participants in the closing presentation, which embodied their competence, readiness and high fighting spirit, pointing out that the exercise was carried out in a number of regions of the country, and its results were clear and tangible thanks to the efforts of all the participating parties. It has also achieved the desired goals, which are represented in uniting and concerting efforts, cooperation and coordination between the Amiri Guard and the military, security and civil authorities, with the aim of reaching the highest levels of operational integration.
The Assistant Commander of the Guard for Operations and Training stated that the great momentum that the country will witness from the activities and visits of many senior officials from all over the world over the course of a whole month requires intensifying efforts, careful planning, taking all necessary precautionary and preventive measures, speed response, and permanent and early preparation for any major events hosted by the state in the future.
In turn, Director of the Barzan Joint Exercise (8) Lt. Colonel Mubarak Mushay Al Ahbabi, in his speech at the beginning of the closing ceremony, said that the exercise comes as an extension of a series of exercises that initiate joint coordination between the Amiri Guard and the concerned military, security and civil authorities in the state, to deal with the challenges facing the security and protection of VIPs during the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the most prominent sporting event in the world.
He explained that the exercise was designed to simulate various possible events, as it was implemented in simultaneous stages aimed at identifying the skill of officers and members of the Amiri Guard in mastering the practice of joint work with all agencies in the state according to the course of events and dilemmas that are being faced.
At the end of his speech, he thanked all the parties that participated in the exercise activities, which were represented by the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, Lekhwiya Force, and other ministries and government agencies.
In the exercise, the participants gave a distinct final presentation that embodied the harmony, strength, skill, training and professionalism they enjoy. The presentation included a number of paragraphs that began with organizing a variety of processional formations, then followed by a series of trainings for the safety and protection of the characters.
In conclusion, His Excellency the Commander of the Amiri Guard and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Commander of the "Lekhwiya" Force, took a souvenir photo with the participants in the exercise.
