Ten percent of Qatar’s adult population has already received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, the Ministry of Public Health said on Sunday. 
"It is very important that everyone completes the vaccine by having the second dose to ensure its efficacy,” Minister HE Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari said.
More than 327,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered since the beginning of the National Vaccination programme, according to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH ).
Sixty one percent of people of over 80 years of age have received atleast one dose of the vaccine and also 61% of over 70 years of age have received atleast one dose.
Of those aged over 60 years of age 55 percent have received atleast one dose of the vaccine and 10 percent of Qatar’s entire population have received atleast one dose of the vaccine.
Qatar started its biggest vaccination programme against COVID-19 on December 23 and started inoculating people in the priority group including— healthcare workers, the elderly and people with chronic diseases. The age groups keep on going down. Currently, the age group being vaccinated is for those who are over 50 years old.
However, those interested to get vaccinated even if their age group has not been reached can  register on  TAWTHEEQ or National Authentication System (NAS).
