Suspicion of a customs inspector has led to the detection of cannabis capsules and narcotic pills in the stomach of a passenger at the Hamad International Airport.
According to the Customs Department, the scrupulous officer subjected the traveller to a full-body scan. The examination confirmed his suspicion — the scan showed the presence of foreign objects in the stomach of the passenger.
In a statement released on Twitter, the customs department said the smuggled items turned out to be seven capsules containing 48.3 grams of cannabis and nine pills of tramadol, a psychotropic drug that is medically prescribed as a painkiller but misuse can often lead to addiction and even death.
