Kuwait Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al Mohammad Al Sabah said on Friday that there have been “constructive and fruitful discussions” on efforts to achieve reconciliation in the Gulf crisis.
He said progress had been made in resolving the Gulf crisis since mid-2017.

Within the framework of reconciliation efforts, previously led by HH (the late Amir) Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and in continuation of the efforts currently being carried out by HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, and President Donald Trump of the friendly United States of America to resolve the crisis, fruitful discussions took place recently, in which all parties affirmed their keenness on Gulf and Arab solidarity and stability and to reach a final agreement that would achieve the aspirations of lasting solidarity between their countries and achieve what is good for their people," the Kuwaiti FM said in public address on state TV.

"In this context, we express our appreciation to Jared Kushner, Senior Advisor to the US President, for the valuable efforts he has made recently in this regard," he added.
Following the statement, Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani thanked Kuwait for its mediation.
“The Kuwaiti statement is an imperative step towards resolving the GCC crisis. We express our gratitude to the State of Kuwait for their mediation & the United States for their efforts. The interest and security of the people of the Gulf & the region remain our top priority,” Sheikh Mohammed said in a tweet.
