The Ministry of Public Health has suspended issuing birth certificates at government and private hospitals in Qatar until further notice as part of COVID-19 precaution.
"As part of preventive & precautionary measures to reduce the spread of Covid-19, MOPH stopped handing birth certificates at all accredited offices until further notice," the ministry said.
The birth certificate and its official document can be mailed by Qatar Post at a cost of QR30 within 48 hours of the date of issuance. 
The decision came into effect on Tuesday (January 18).
