Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) announced the resumption of Metro services on Friday (August 6), to support the movement of people during the temporary road closure of the Corniche between 6 and 10 August.
The company emphasised Doha Metro’s role in facilitating transportation to avoid traffic congestion, especially during the period of these temporary road closures.
The 37 stations across the Metro network serve key destinations around the city and the Corniche area such as the National Museum, Souq Waqif, Corniche, Al Bidda, West Bay and DECC station.
The metrolink and metroexpress services will also continue to operate during the road closures, however, some routes have been temporarily diverted in order to access the metro stations.
Metro services will be suspended again on Fridays to allow for system upgrades to take place.
