Ultra-low-cost Indian carrier Go First is set to start flights between Doha and three Indian cities — Mumbai in the central Indian state of Maharashtra, and Kochi and Kannur in South India's Kerala.
The Mumbai-Doha G81571 flight will start on August 5 and will operate four days a week — on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, the airline said on its website.  It will leave Mumbai at 8.10pm and arrive in Doha at 9pm.The return Doha-Mumbai G8 4471 flight will leave at 10pm and reach at 4am the next day.
The Kochi-Mumbai G8 1572 will operate twice a week — on Thursday and Saturday — starting on August 5. It will depart from Kochi at 7.45pm and arrive in Doha at 9.30pm. The return flight, G8 4472, will leave Doha at 10.30pm and reach Kochi at 5.30am the next day.
The Kannur-Doha G8 1573 flight will operate twice a week — on Friday and Sunday, starting on August 6. It will depart from Kannur at 8pm and arrive in Doha at 9.30pm. The return flight, G8 4473, will leave Doha at 10.30pm and reach Kannur at 5.15am the next day.
Recently, Air India had also announced new services between Qatar and cities in India.
The air bubble agreement between Qatar and India has been extended to August. An announcement was made on Indian Embassy's official Twitter handle that flights have resumed under this arrangement.
The agreement had expired on July 31. India had stopped international flights after the spread of COVID-19 and operated flights to different countries on Air Bubble agreements.
Indian budget carrier GoAir has renamed itself as Go First in its pursuit to become the country’s first ultra-low-cost carrier. The name change also came ahead of the airline starting the process to go public and raise fresh funds.
