Qatar’s Ministry of Interior on Thursday said it has taken a pickup truck into custody after a viral social media video showed it scrapping through the road with a deflated and damaged tyre.
The video shows sparks flying as the vehicle's bare left rim on the front came in contact with the road in what appeared to be the motorist’s ill-conceived attempt to keep driving despite losing the tyre.
The ministry did not provide further details and is not immediately clear how the vehicle lost its tyre.
The ministry said it has initiated legal measures after seizing the vehicle.
