Qatar's weekly average of positive COVID-19 infections out of every 100 tests has fallen to one of the lowest since the outbreak this month as the caseload continues to taper off.

According to the latest figures released by the Planning and Statistics Authority, the weekly average ratio of positive cases to examined cases between October 20 and 26 stands at 3, the same as the week before.

The figure was 38.8 at the peak, between May 26 and June 1. Since then, the average has been declining steadily.
As of October 26, 2,842 people are currently under treatment for COVID-19 in Qatar. Tuesday saw 257 people testing positive out of 6,013 people examined.
The death toll from the infection stands at 230, while 128,617 have recovered.
