Some like their coffee hot while some, cold. Some prefer to sip them from cups, while some like to chug them off mugs. Sure, there are countless ways to enjoy coffee, but grown men and women drinking coffee from baby bottles is just plain weird!
Unfortunately, that is a trend picking up in Middle East and a few others countries — and the authorities aren't that amused.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Kuwait has taken an outlet to task for selling coffee in baby bottles, and slapped a ban on restaurants and cafes from continuing such a practice.
The Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) unit of Dubai has also barred coffee shops from serving drinks in feeding bottles.
The action comes after CCCP came to know that people were bringing baby bottles to cafes and filling them up with coffee and other beverages.
“Such indiscriminate use of baby bottles is not only against local culture and traditions but the mishandling of the bottle during the filling could also contribute to the spread of Covid-19,” the department was quoted as saying by media in Dubai.
