Qatar's Cabinet on Wednesday approved a draft devcision to establish and artificial intelligence committee in Qatar.
According to the draft, the committee will be established at the Ministry of Transport and Communications. It will consist of three MOTC representatives, the head of the committee, a representative of Qatar Computing Research Institute as a vice-president, and a representative membership of each of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Science and Technology Park, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Qatar National Research Fund and Qatar Development Bank. 
The committee will specialise in establishing follow-up mechanisms and implementing the Qatar Artificial Intelligence Strategy, in coordination with the ministries and relevant authorities in the country, towards achieving the goals of the strategy, supervising the programs and initiatives related to artificial intelligence launched by the state and ensuring their access to, completion and review of sectors, in coordination with the ministries and relevant authorities in the country, and developing recommendations for plans and programs for preparing human cadres in the field of artificial intelligence applications, in coordination with various authorities, and supporting emerging companies in the field of artificial intelligence and scientific research in this field.
The weekly regular meeting, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, also approved Minister of Commerce and Industry's draft decision amending some provisions of Resolution No. 161 of 2017 regarding the general and special requirements that must be met in similar commercial, industrial and public shops.
The draft resolution aims to lay down special requirements for places that provide massage and non-therapeutic massage services.
