The feature of the Ras Umm Hasah Cup Day saw a thrilling finish as the HE Sheikha Reem Bint Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani-owned Image Du Croate (FR) (Munjiz x Beanie Du Croate) came up with a late surge in the final strides to clinch victory and the Cup at the Al Uqda Racecourse on Saturday.
Image Du Croatedenied MJ Mutabahi (FR) (AF AlBahar) by only a short head in the 1300m Purebred Arabian Conditions and completed a double on the card for trainer Rudy Nerbonne and jockey Lukas Delozier.
Abdulla Rashid Al Kubaisi, QREC Racing Manager, crowned the winners.
Earlier in the Thoroughbred Handicap (80-100), 3YO+, 1200m race, Tilaawah (GB) (Showcasing x Lady Estella), owned by Mohammed Hamad H A Al Jehani and trained by Hamad Al Jehani was riddenby jockey Chloe Mignonneau.
Ushayqer (QA) (Abide With Me x Itsher), owned by Mohamed Abdulla Al Abdulmalik and trained by Mohamed Khaled Elahmed was saddled to win by Faleh Bughanaim in the Local Thoroughbred Handicap (50-70), 3YO+, 1300m.
Cloak And Dagger (IRE) (Lope De Vega x Redoutable), owned by Fatima Bint Sultan D Al Dosari and trained by Mohammed Ghazali was guided to victory in the Thoroughbred Handicap (65-85), 3YO+, 1200m by Hamed Al Busaidi.
Eng. Osama Omer E Al-Dafea’s Jazz De Nacre (FR) (Al Mourtajez x Salsa Du Croate) won the Purebred Arabian Handicap (0-75), 3YO+, 1300m race. The Owaida Salem Al Hajri-trained horse was ridden by jockey Abdulla Rashid Al Hajri.
Al Shahania Stud’s Ray’q (QA) (Azadi x Zahwah), trained by Rudy Nerbonne, claimed the Local Purebred Arabian Novice Plate, 3YO+, 1300m under Lukas Delozier.
Ras Umm Hasah Cup Day began with the races on dirt with Opera Legend (GB) (Night Of Thunder x Operettist) - owned by Ahmed Hassan Al Malki Al Jehani and trained by Hamad Al Jehani - galloping to victory in the Thoroughbred Maiden Plate, 1200m, under Szczepan Mazur.
