The 49th Annual Day celebration of MES Indian School (MESIS), titled ‘Mesmerise-2023’, unfolded with grandeur and vibrancy on November 23, 2023. The school’s grass field served as the venue for the two-day cultural extravaganza, showcasing the exceptional talents of enthusiastic students.

The event welcomed a distinguished array of personalities and hundreds of spectators. First Lieutenant Muhammed Abdullah Al-Naama, awareness officer at the Juvenile Police Department, Ministry of Interior, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The inaugural day also saw the presence of First Lt. Mishal Abdulla Al Hajiri and Dr Salem Al Naimi as guests of honour. Sandeep Kumar, deputy chief of mission, Embassy of India, and Abdul Basit Khan, senior private schools’ specialist, Ministry of Education & Higher Education, took centre stage as the chief Guest and guest of honour, respectively, on the concluding day.

Congratulating the school on its 49th annual day celebrations, the chief guest commended the efforts of the school in nurturing the talents of its students. He also urged the students to be responsible in adhering to the norms of the school and prepare themselves to face the challenges of the world with the values learned through education imbibed from teachers and elders. The school was honoured with a memento from the Ministry of Interior as a token of appreciation for its magnificent contribution in the field of education. Dr Najeeb KP, president officiating, MES Governing Board, in his address lauded the spectacular scholastic and co-scholastic achievements of the students. The school with its 50 years mark in the upcoming year will continue to serve meritoriously fulfilling the journey towards holistic development.

Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar presented the annual report, which highlighted the landmark achievements of students in all spheres of activities during the academic year 2022-23. The school toppers and meritorious students from Classes X and XII CBSE Examinations 2023 were honoured with cash prizes, gold medals and mementoes, presented by dignitaries attending the event. Special recognition was extended to students who excelled at the national level, particularly the athletes who secured a bronze medal in the CBSE National Athletic Meet 2023 in the Under 14 boys’ 4x100 relay category.

The school also took the opportunity to acknowledge the dedication and service of its staff members. Those who devoted 30 and 25 years to the institution received gold coins and certificates of excellence. Additionally, members with 20, 15, and 10 years of service were honored with certificates of excellence.

Steeson K Mathew, head of the Physical Education was honoured for winning a bronze medal in the Javelin throw event representing India at the 22nd Asia Masters Athletic Championship 2023 in the Philippines recently.

The esteemed members of MES Governing Board, members of IES Education City, Pramila Kannan, principal of MESIS, school officials and parents were among those who attended the 49th annual day celebrations of MES Indian School.

Arundhati Gopikrishnan, Head Girl, and Aryan Unnikrishnan, Assistant Head Prefect, Boys’ Section, along with other student leaders, played pivotal roles in welcoming the gathering and proposing votes of thanks.

Anver K and Sumitha Abdulnasar, Cultural Conveners, along with the cultural coordination team, ensured the success of Mesmerise-2023.
