The Global Confederation for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice, Interprofessional Global, concluded the third Interprofessional Global Partnership Symposium, which was hosted by Qatar University’s (QU) Health. The event, which was held from the November 2 to 5, was a unique opportunity for global partners to come together, share their knowledge, expertise, and learnings, and collectively work towards advancing Interprofessional health profession education and collaborative practice. This symposium, hosted by QU, preceded the International Conference on Interprofessional Practice and Education “All Together Better Health ATBH XI”, and spanned over three days of intense discussions, evaluations, and strategic planning.

The Symposium, held prior to the ATBH XI conference brought together 40 representatives from 18 countries affiliated with 11 different regional networks around the globe in the field of interprofessional education and healthcare. The meeting reflected on the progress made by Interprofessional. Global working groups and the regional networks since the previous Symposium held in Switzerland in 2021. Furthermore, the delegates had an opportunity to explore ways to enhance collaboration between professions and regions worldwide. The ultimate goal is to ensure better health for all and develop strategies for a brighter future.

Dr. Alla El-Awaisi, director of clinical operations and engagement, Vice President Office for Health and Medical Sciences at QU, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “As we proudly host the 3rd Interprofessional Global Partnership Symposium at Qatar University, the excitement resonates in contributing to a global dialogue on interprofessional collaboration.

She added, “This symposium not only marks a milestone but also sets the stage for the launch of the Arab Network for Interprofessional Collaboration, a dynamic addition to the Interprofessional. Global Confederation contributing significantly to the global discourse on interprofessional education and practice. Qatar University is honored to be a key player in this transformative endeavor, working towards a brighter, healthier future for all.”

The third Interprofessional Global Partnership Symposium heralds a new era of health collaboration, where the focus is on sharing knowledge, driving innovation, transforming the healthcare landscape, and serving as a catalyst for global healthcare improvement.
