The Qatar Paralympic Committee (QPC) honoured Qatar’s athletes, who recently excelled at the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 and Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games, during a ceremony held at the federation’s headquarters in the presence of male and female athletes of various categories and members of QPC.

Dr. Hassan Al Ansari, Secretary-General, QPC, Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa, Assistant Secretary-General, QPC, and Amir Al Mulla, Executive Director of QPC honoured the Qatar team’s champions.

Dr. Al Ansari praised the achievements made by the national team’s male and female champions during their international participations this season, most notably the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023 and Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games.

Al Ansari told Qatar News Agency (QNA), that QPC celebrates the achievements of the team’s athletes during their participation at various international events this season, in which Ali Arshad won bronze medal in the 100-meter wheelchair race and the goal ball also players excelled pointing out that many participations await the athletes ahead towards obtaining qualification cards for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Abdul Qadir Al Mutawa thanked all the athletes who made achievements at both the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin 2023 and the recently concluded Hangzhou 2022 Asian Para Games.

Amir Al Mulla said that the federation honored the champions in a celebration that it has been organizing annually in recognition of athletes’ excellence and their winning of medals at various participations, dedicating these achievements to HE President of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.

He expressed Qatar Paralympic Committee’s aspiration to achieve more, adding that their goal is to be present at the Paris Olympics to raise the Qatari flag high and to gain podium places.
