DOHA: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Korea HE Yoon Suk Yeol held a session of official talks at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday morning.
At the beginning of the session, HH the Amir welcomed the Korean president and his accompanying delegation, wishing them a pleasant stay and looking forward that this visit will contribute to consolidating the cooperation relations and partnership to serve the interests of both countries. In this regard, His Highness stressed his keenness to strengthen the relations between the two countries, especially with the approaching of the 50th anniversary of establishing the diplomatic relation between both countries, which the two countries will celebrate in 2024, wishing the Qatari-Korean relations further development and growth.
For his part, the Korean president expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the warm reception and generous hospitality, stressing his keenness on developing cooperation relations between the two countries and pushing them to broader prospects in multiple fields, while strengthening the cooperation between the two countries regionally and internationally.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations and ways of supporting and developing them in all fields, especially in energy, investment, and culture domains, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international developments of common interest.
The talks session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Municipality HE Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Eng Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of Their Excellencies senior officials.
On the Korean side, the session was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Park Jin, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs HE Chung Hwang-keun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy HE Bang Moon-kyu, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport HE Won Hee-ryong, and a number of Their Excellencies member of the official delegation accompanying the president.
HH the Amir and the Korean president also held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed a range of topics of common interest.
HH the Amir also hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the president of the Republic of Korea and his accompanying delegation.The president of the Republic of Korea was accorded an official reception ceremony upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
