DOHA: Minister of Labour and the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking (NCCHT) Chairman He Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri chaired on Monday the committee's second scheduled meeting for 2023.

During the session, members deliberated on the 2022 NCCHT annual report and a strategy for the years 2023-2024, focusing on strengthening efforts against human trafficking. Discussions also centred on recommendations designed to bolster protection for trafficking victims, amplify the Committee's anti-trafficking role, and foster collaboration among associated entities.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Labour launched in February this year the website www.ahtnc.gov.qa of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, in alignment with the State of Qatar's steadfast commitment to human rights and its proactive measures to combat human trafficking, and guided by the pillars of the National Vision 2030 and the Ministry of Labour's emphasis on digital transformation which contributes to streamlining transactions and enhanced public services.
