talabat, the region’s leading platform for everyday deliveries, is the first in the region to officially introduce and locally integrate telematics for two-wheeler vehicles, an innovative in-app safety solution co-developed by parent company Delivery Hero and facilitated by partner organisation, Sentiance.

The integration of telematics offers a reliable way to analyse riding patterns that was not previously available in the industry, especially for two-wheeler vehicles.

Telematics combines navigation, safety and security to retrieve data that helps monitor various riding patterns, including braking, acceleration rate, speed and use of mobile phones while driving. Through this analysis, the solution provides talabat with insights that help assess risk areas and rash driving habits to improve rider safety and driving behaviour.

With the data gathered, talabat can provide each individual rider with valuable feedback and tailored goals, according to specific areas where improvement is required, as well as in-app educational sessions and coaching.

Riders can also have access to their safety scores in order to assess their progress throughout their driving journey and the efficiency of their custom training programmes.

Tareq Barto, chief operations officer at talabat, said: “Rider safety is one of talabat’s top priorities, and with the help of local authorities and partners, the telematics solution for two-wheelers will allow us to effectively analyse driving behaviour on an individual level and focus our resources and initiatives on risk areas to positively impact the riders and existing rider safety programmes.”

The launch of the telematics solution marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to enhancing rider safety and providing comprehensive support to riders all year round. This initiative aligns seamlessly with other impactful campaigns, such as talabat’s highly successful Road Safety Week and Summer Together initiatives.
