Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan Jumakhonzoda Jamshed said that the future of commercial cooperation between his country and the State of Qatar will witness a quantum leap thanks to the mutual aspirations of the two countries to increase the volume of trade exchange and enhance the areas of economic cooperation and investment.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), He said that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Tajikistan comes at a crucial time as it paves the way for establishing real partnerships between the business sectors of both countries, whether at the level of the private or public business sectors.
He pointed out that businesspersons in Tajikistan attach great importance to the visit of HH the Amir, viewing it as an opportunity to discuss new prospects for the business sector between the two countries, as well as create new partnerships in various fields of cooperation, such as industry, food security, tourism, mining and others.
He stressed that the time has come to open a new page of commercial cooperation, not only at the level of the two countries, but also at the level of businesspersons, as both sides possess extensive experiences to establish commercial projects and investments that benefit both parties, including projects in the tourism, food, agricultural and energy sectors.
He highlighted the Tajik business community’s interest in opening prospects for cooperation with its counterparts in the State of Qatar, especially since there are common denominators linking the two parties, as well as promising opportunities in exporting and importing high-quality foodstuffs, vegetables and water.
He pointed out that he held a remote meeting with Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI), where the two sides decided to sign an agreement for trade cooperation and several memoranda of understanding, in a step to encourage the advancement of trade exchange, economic projects and investment forward.
He also addressed the participation of Tajikistan and the business community in Doha Expo 2023, which will start in Doha on Oct. 2, adding that it will be an opportunity to meet with businesspersons in Qatar and promote Tajikistan in terms of tourism, investment and trade.
Tajik President pointed out that he will visit Doha soon to meet with Qatari businesspersons to discuss ways to enhance trade cooperation and present joint projects in various sectors and fields, where nearly 100 projects will be presented on the Qatari side for cooperation and investment.
He also pointed out the mutual aspiration to launch an economic forum for businesspersons from both countries, to serve as a platform for ideas and discussions on the best ways to strengthen trade relations between the two countries, in order to rise to the level of brotherly relations between the two countries.
He expressed his belief that businesspersons in Qatar will have a great interest in investing in Tajikistan, as the conditions are encouraging especially with the openness and growth that his country is witnessing, considering the visit of HH the Amir to Dushanbe as an opportunity to move to the next stage in cooperation between various sectors in both countries.
Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the concluded his interview with QNA by voicing his hopes that the visit of HH the Amir will pave the way for further economic and commercial cooperation.
