TheMinister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir said that his country considers the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, as an important opportunity to advance the relations between the two countries to a new stage of cooperation in various fields.

In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Minister of Industry and New Technologies affirmed that his country looks forward to Qatar’s support for Tajikistan through investments and commercial cooperation to contribute to the development and growth of the Republic of Tajikistan.

He also highlighted his country’s desire for a strategic partnership with Qatar in the industrial field, since there are significant prospects for cooperation in this area, especially considering the tremendous capabilities and resources both countries have.

Tajikistan possesses abundant natural resources and various raw materials, including aluminum, lithium and other materials used in manufacturing. While Qatar has a keen vision for investment and material resources.

He expressed that the two countries can invest in the field of mineral and natural resources, in particular manufacturing electric cars by setting up a factory in Tajikistan. He noted that a Qatari investment would benefit both sides and provide progress in the cooperation between the two countries.

He also expressed a desire of cooperation in regards of food security, given the progress and growth that this matter is witnessing in Tajikistan.In addition, he highlighted cotton production which is exported abroad.

He noted that the manufacturing capabilities of cotton in Tajikistan through foreign investments, such as Qatar, will bring significant benefits to both sides.

The Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan pointed out that the Tajik side will present projects and programs for industrial cooperation to Qatari investors, calling on the Qatari business sector to explore the many opportunities and advantages that are provided in his country.

The opportunities include investing in green hydroelectric energy, in which Tajikistan has reached almost self-sufficiency, and is currently exporting it to a number of neighboring countries such as Afghanistan.

His Excellency stressed the importance of investment in the field of hydroelectric energy through dams for his country, which has vast projects in this field.

He aims to attract foreign investments, including an investment from the World Bank for one of the most important dams in Tajikistan, with a finance estimate of five million USD.

At the end of his interview with QNA, HE the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherali Kabir emphasized that the distinguished relations between Tajikistan and Qatar pave the way for multiple partnerships and open doors for large-scale industrial projects.

These projects contribute to advance the development in his country and serve as long-term Qatari investments that benefit all sides involved.
