His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan HE Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held official talks on Wednesday at the Akorda Presidential Palace in Astana.
At the outset of the talks, the President of Kazakhstan expressed his warm welcome to HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, appreciating HH the Amir’s acceptance of the invitation to participate in the Astana International Forum.
He also expressed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation relations between the two friendly countries at all levels, consideringQatar as one of Kazakhstan’s most important partners in the Middle East, while pointing to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which falls this year.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his sincere thanks to the Kazakhstan President for the warm reception, noting that this is his third visit to Kazakhstan andhe looks forward to advancing friendship and cooperation to broader horizons in light of the enormous poteralortunities of the two countries in various fields to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
The talks also dealt with developing and strengthening bilateral relations, in addition to exchanging views on the most important regional and international developments of common concern.
The official talks session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
On the Kazakh side, it was attended by Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Timur Suleimenov, HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, and a number of senior officials.
