President of Sudan Omar al Bashir has issued a presidential decision to honour Qatar's Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs HE Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al Kuwari with the Order of the Two Niles (First Class).
The decision came on the recommendation of the head of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Sudan in recognition of the efforts of the minister in support of Islamic dawah organisations in Sudan.
Sudan's First Vice-President Lieutenant General Bakri Hassan Saleh awarded the Order to the minister at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Fiqh Academy on Monday.
The first vice-president hailed the Qatari leadership supportive positions for the security, stability and progress of Sudan, saying that Qatar's establishment of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Sudan will contribute to expansion of dawa activities and promote the Academy role in maintaining stability, unity and reconciliation in the country.
He underlined that the government and people of Sudan appreciate the Qatari efforts made at all levels, which reflect the strong and distinct relations between the two countries.
On his part, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs HE Dr Ghaith bin Mubarak al Kuwari said that his visit to Sudan comes in the course of the directives of the Emir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani to further strengthen cooperation between dawah organisations in both countries.
The minister reaffirmed Qatar's continued support and cooperation with the Islamic organisations and the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Sudan.
