Qatari plane carrying humanitarian aid arrives in Afghanistan

A Qatari plane carrying humanitarian assistance has arrived in Afghanistan.

Provided by Qatar Charity and the Qatar Red Crescent Society, the aid includes about 60 tonnes of educational materials intended for the education sector, as well as humanitarian and food aid.

This assistance comes within the framework of Qatar's endeavors and its firm commitment to provide support and stand by the brotherly Afghan people and to provide them with the urgent necessary needs.

Qatar has recently hosted talks on the future of education in Afghanistan and the challenges and obstacles facing it, with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Education Above All Foundation, the Afghan Ministry of Education, UNICEF and Education Cannot Wait.

Participants in these talks agreed on the need to guarantee the right to education for all, to develop a common vision that deals with the challenges, and to provide high-quality educational opportunities for all Afghan students in all regions.

It is noteworthy that Qatar has been providing urgent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan over the past years, including foodstuffs transported via an air bridge from Qatar to Kabul, with hundreds of tonnes of humanitarian aid.
