Jassim and Hamad Bin Jassim Charitable Foundation (HBJ Foundation) has signed a QR70 million partnership contract with the council of Morocco's Marrakech-Safi region and the executing company to start construction and equipping of a hospital in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.
The contract was signed by HBJ Foundation Chief Executive Officer Saeed Mathkar al Hajri and Premier Vice-President of Marrakech-Safi Samir Koudar.
In a press statement, Hajri said, following a memorandum of understanding signed previously between HBJ Foundation and Marrakech-Safi region, the HBJ Foundation signed a contract to build and equip the Sheikha Sharifa Al Nasr hospital in Sidi Youssef Ben Ali area in Marrakech in order to support and develop the health sector in the region.
He stressed the HBJ Foundation's keenness on implementing its projects with the highest professional standards and to benefit from experts and consultants in the area, adding that the project is expected to be completed within a maximum period of 24 months from the start of implementation.
The 45-bed hospital includes a range of specialties and departments, including surgery, emergency, intensive care, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general medicine, medical analysis laboratory, X-ray laboratory, medical laboratory, pharmacy and other facilities.
