Ooredoo Group announced on Sunday that the Council Chamber of the Court of Cassation in Kuwait issued a decision rejecting the appeal and obliging the appellants to pay an amount of KD 43.817 million (roughly QR510 million), in favour of Ooredoo Kuwait.

A statement by the company, posted on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) website, stated that the ruling concerns the issue of the range of numbers in Case No. 859/2020.

The appeal was submitted by Director General of the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) in his capacity as (appellant) and the Minister of Communications in his capacity as (appellant), the statement added.

The decision issued by the Kuwaiti judicial authority comes after the hearing of the appeal against the ruling issued in favour of the national mobile telecommunications company Ooredoo Kuwait.
