The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has stressed that it is necessary for owners of commercially licensed service villas to adhere to the authorized commercial activities and the needed requirements to avoid legal accountability.

In a circular regarding regulating the work practiced in commercially licensed service villas, the MoCI said that the service license is issued for the villa as whole, not a part of it, emphasizing the importance of adherence to the scope of the license and non-operation outside the villa. The service villa should not connected to the residence neither should the residence be a part of it.

The ministry said it is necessary to adhere to the type of activity registered in the commercial license issued for the villa, which must also comply with the activities stipulated in the ministerial decision regulating the matter, in addition to adherence to safety, security and civil defense conditions as required by the competent authorities.
