Qatar has condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli occupation authorities' approval of a law allowing the return to four settlements in the West Bank, and considered this step a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, the principles of international law, and relevant UN resolutions, as well as a blatant violation against the rights of the Palestinian people.

In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar's deep concern over the policy of fait accompli pursued by the Israeli occupation forces for years, which aims to strip Palestinian rights guaranteed by international law, and undermines international efforts to implement the two-state solution.

The ministry also called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities to oblige Israel to stop its settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's firm stance on the just Palestinian cause, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
