Assistant Foreign Minister HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater on Wednesday met with US Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls and Human Rights Rina Amiri and Charge d’Affaires of the US Mission to Afghanistan Karen Decker.

During the meeting, they discussed the latest developments in Afghanistan and the results of the Afghan Women’s Conference organised by Qatar in cooperation with Indonesia in December 2022, in addition to ways to support the Afghan people, especially their right to education. (QNA)

Khater also with UK Special Envoy to the Horn of Africa and Red Sea Sarah Montgomery and discussed cooperation between the two countries, the latest developments in the Horn of Africa and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of development and humanitarian aid in countries of the Horn of Africa.

The assistant foreign minister also met with Ambassador of Canada to Qatar HE Isabelle Marie Catherine Martin and discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation and ways of enhancing them, in addition to issues of common interest, particularly girls’ education in Afghanistan.

The meeting also touched on ways of strengthening partnership in development projects, and Qatar’s preparations to host the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) next month.

The Canadian ambassador congratulated Qatar on its successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Khater also held a discussion session with Ambassador of Turkey to Qatar HE Dr Mustafa Goksu.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to support them. They also discussed several issues of common interest, particularly girls’ education.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador congratulated Qatar on its successful hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
